Our 10 week business performance amplifier program
Bosveld and Associates are licensees of the EvaluSys Business Evaluations online diagnostic tools to help us Discover the opportunities during our Business Performance Tune-Up process.
Week 1. Introductory call to get overview of your business, your existing priorities, challenges and opportunities, set expectations for our engagement, discuss process with required time commitment/timeline, and key items identified from Business Wellness checkup. We will decide on who participates, review costs, execute an NDA and engagement contract to begin our Business Performance Amplifier Program. We recommend that 2-3 key managers conduct each questionnaire, each week, to examine alignment.
For each of the following weeks during our engagement, we start by conducting an online questionnaire across 9 different functional areas of the business. We then follow-up with a more detailed discussion/consultation on your responses, and provide a written report with our recommended actions, prioritized by importance and urgency.
Week 2 – Executive leadership. We review and inspect many of the key factors impacting your ability to establish a vision for the future and lead your organization to achieve that vision.
Week 3 – Financial Planning and Control. We conduct a high level review of your financial needs and priorities around cash flow and capital expenditures, and review your processes such as collection procedures and inventory management. We also conduct a detailed analysis of your current financial condition by examining over 60 different ratios to identify the financial “drivers” and “draggers” of the business.
Week 4 – Business Processes and Quality. We examine your quality control, how you deal with customer complaints, your operational efficiency, interdepartmental communications etc.
Week 5 – Human Resources. We review a wide range of factors that impact your ability to achieve a stable and engaged workforce, as well your processes to help develop your team to achieve their best and enhance teamwork.
Week 6 – Product/Service Innovation. We examine the key factors affecting your ability to ensure that your product/service mix never grows stale and your ability to establish and maintain a culture of innovation across your company.
Week 7 – Marketing. This evaluation provides a valuable inspection of many key factors impacting your ability to identify, attract and inspire qualified prospects to feed your sales process.
Week 8 – Sales. We review your entire sales process including your training programs, how you prospect customers and handle objections, and how you track your progress to achieve your plan.
Week 9 – Business Planning. Setting short and long term strategic goals along with the specific initiatives that need to be undertaken, by whom and by when is critical for every business. We examine your business planning process with the aim to make it more practical, relevant and meaningful to your whole organization.
Week 10 – Exit Planning. No one lives forever, and so whether your eventual exit includes a transition within the family, to outside management, an outright sale or even a partial sale, we help identify the key factors required to improve your readiness for a smooth transition.
Over the 10 week period, our Business Performance Amplifier Program takes a commitment of approximately 1.5-2 hours per week, for each participant, including the follow-up call/consultation.
A final report is delivered with all the prioritized recommendations (based on both urgency and importance) along with the actions for each area examined during the Business Performance Amplifier discovery/planning process.
A quarterly review call is scheduled for the following 3 quarters to discuss you and your team’s progress, on-going issues/challenges, new developments etc. Acting on our recommendations is often a lot of work. We will coach you on how to best accomplish the key priority actions and direct you to key resources that will help you achieve the required actions.
Our Business Performance Amplifier Program is not suitable for very early stage businesses or start-ups. It is designed to help established businesses that are not in distress (eg: difficulty making payroll), have multiple employees and a multi-year operating history. While the challenges and opportunities differ significantly, businesses can be under-performing, high growth/low profit or highly profitable. If your business is facing a significant cash flow shortage from a declining market presence, we do not recommend our Business Performance Amplifier Program, and suggest that you find a “turnaround” specialist to assist you.
We aim to keep our process affordable by operating efficiently. We make extensive use of software tools to keep our costs low. Each weekly call has a defined agenda and is expected to last approximately 1 hour.
Pricing starts at $5000 USD ($6250 Canadian + HST), includes the Business Wellness Checkup initial review, plus weekly follow-up reports/consultations for each subject area, plus 3 quarterly progress assessments. i.e. 13 phone consultations over 1 year.
